Janet Auman
Hi I’m Janet Auman, director and teacher here at Our Children’s House. I am married to Kyle and have one daughter Abby who attended here and is now a sub at OCH. I was part of the founding group who started OCH and will be celebrating my 25th year here in November. I have been a teacher/director for 37 wonderful years and have made providing a warm, loving and nurturing environment for children my life’s work.
Rhonda Crenshaw
Hi everyone! I am Rhonda Crenshaw and I have worked at OCH for 24 1/2 years. I have three children, two boys and one girl. One of my sons is a 17-year-old senior in high school, the other is a 19-year-old sophomore at ECSU, and my 21-year-old daughter received two associate degrees from GTCC and now is a Jr. at ECU. I believe caring for children is a labor of love. Where else can you go and feel like a rockstar everyday?
Joy Sloop
My name is Joy Sloop and I have a 20-year-old daughter and 11-year-old dog named Blue. I have been at OCH since 1997. I left for a few years and came back in 2002 with my daughter Hayley. Through the years I have taught the ones and the threes and now I teach the four-year-olds. My interests include loving all animals, photography, and nature. I love OCH because as a multi-age group center, we are able to watch the children grow from age 1-5 and really get to know them and their families. I feel having a school family that has a strong connection to the home is what helps children to feel safe and connected. Through these connections, the child will thrive. I enjoy teaching children through all of their senses and allowing them to enjoy the process of any activity. I look forward to enjoying another year at OCH!
